Umm, I think something's up with my FA offers. I made a slew of new offers in the last sim and they were apparently received (and received well, based on my e-mails from the players), but they don't show up in my Show Your Offers screen, nor do they appear in the Offers Report.

I am having the same problem. Also, the website isn't showing certain information, like responses from free agents to the offers.

Hmm.

I'll re-upload when I get home tonight and we'll see if that fixes it.

I'm not sure I get how this works. I'm apparently bidding against myself for certain players, who still won't sign.

Yeah, there's a complicated equation in there wherein a player has certain features and independent attitudes towards each team. The factors are desire to win, comfort with home, greed, history with the team (they'll remember hard negotiating later on), and a certain random factor. So you can make an offer and even if no one else is bidding they'll demand more and you either give it to them or not.

I've seen weird things like an all star quality 2B be so combative that NO one picked him up and he ended up in the 'unsigned free agent' list at the end of the FA period and was available for a cheap 1 year deal. Sort of the Jody Reed approach.

... and, sometimes the player will defy logic and not accept your offer.

Case in point, in my other league I had a once-stud pitcher who was on the downside of his career that pretty much earned him a retired number and a day of honor when he retired. As a free agent, I offered him something like a 2yr/$6m offer, and he ended up accepting a 2yr/$4m offer, since he didn't seem to like mine.

That made no sense whatsoever, since he was insanely popular for my team and won four championships.

So, I did what I had to do: I waited until the trading deadline and then traded for him. :)
