They said it could be done, sports fans! But they didn't count on the the Socratic League and it's set of over- and underachievers! Because get this...
And the end of the day of August 9, 2003, there is a three way tie for the lead in the Socratic League and the fourth place team, Winnipeg, is only one-half game off the pace! It can't possibly get any tighter than this, fanboys! Not even the the ghost of Casey Stengel himself knows how this one will end up!
Oh, and in the Platonic League some stuff happened, too. But it's not quite that exciting. Seattle's up but. Sylva's in the wild card slot and Stockholm is 1.5 games behind them. Feh.
Only one great performance this sim and that goes to Maryland's Ronald Hernandez and his game against Stockholm on August 8th. Ronald went 3 for 4 with 5 runs batted in and four runs scored! Well done, Ronald!
On the injury front Brooklyn's Mark Fossum came down with a strained back muscle. He'll be out for about one week. Maryland's Kenneth Juarez and Pittsburgh's Brian Staudt both suffered day-to-day injuries.
The next, oh-so-exciting, edge-of-your-seat sim is on Monday by Mack! Be there!
