Game Five's Finished and Both Series Continue!

Sorry for the delay. Forgot about my son's morning T-ball game.

In the Platonic League, Seattle jumped out to a big lead with a six-spot in the top of the second with seven singles and a walk. Maryland immediately struck back in the bottom of the frame with three runs, capped by a two run bomb to deep right-center by John Dickerman. The score then stayed at 6-3 for a long time as Seattle starter Billy Lowry settled down and the Maryland bullpen survived giving up six hits over the next five innings. Finally, Seattle put the game away in the top of the eighth inning scoring three runs on six more singles. Reliever Kenny Gonsales took over from there as Seattle cruised to a season-saving 9-3 victory. The Ministry accumulated 21 hits, 20 of them singles. Maryland still leads three games to two and the series returns to Seattle.

In the Socratic League, youth was served as Brooklyn's young guns Tyler Conn and Steve Corner combined to hold Winnipeg to a single run on seven hits, striking out seven in the process. Brooklyn scored three in the first and another in the third to take a lead they never relinquished. The 4-1 victory gives Brooklyn a 3-2 lead in the series. However, the home team has won all five games in this series, which moves to the cozy confines of Intel Stadium in Winnipeg for the final two games.

League file's posted and the web pages are en route. I took care of the day off and Game Six in both series will be simmed Monday night by Nate. Stay tuned!

Up one game with 2 to go...I like my chances with the pitching matchups in the last 2 games, and my lineup is hitting good enough to get the pitching the wins. Trying to do my part to keep the CPU out of the Series.
