Finally, it came to this...Maryland against Brooklyn at Brooklyn for the 2003 OEL Championship.
And it was Maryland, my Maryland, that won it all.
It looked good for the Bombers as the scored one in the bottom of the first on Oscar Woodworth's leadoff double and eventual run on a sac fly by 2B Tikanao.
But it wasn't too be. That run was all that Brooklyn was destined to score tonight as Maryland drove in three in the top of the third on a home run by third sacker John Dickerman and timely hitting by Villa, Ruiz, and Hernandez. Maryland scored a fourth run in the top of the seventh and that was all she wrote! We have our champion! Our third in three years!
Congratulations to Will Taylor for his triumph and condolences to Jeremy Goldman for his loss. At least you had the trophy for a year, Jeremy!
Mack will take care of the season rollover either tomorrow night or during the weekend. I'll let him speak to that. Final free agent offers should be in before that time.
Also, if anyone is thinking of not participating next season please tell us now. And if anyone knows someone to take over Winnipeg please have them contact Mack or I.
Best to all and I'll see you in 2004!

Congratulations, Will!
Hard to believe I was two games away from being in his position.
There's always next year...
Good series Will, thought I was going to take it from you at the end, but it was not meant to be.
Congrats!!!!
Just think Michael, all you had to do was beat poor, pathetic Pittsburgh.
Sad, really. Just sad.
All I feel is shame.
The Elysian Fields are hell when sweet oblivion was so near.
