As the Black Bears attempt to get their team in the black, GM Jason Krausert has made another deal to shed some salary.
They have dealt starting RF Benito Figueredo to the World Series runner-up Brooklyn Bombers along with his $5.24M contract and their 5th round pick in the upcoming draft for AAA LF prospect Tony Valle and $1M in cold hard cash.
"This move really helps us get some money so I can sign some coaches," said Jason, "I really don't know how we could be $5M in the red to start this season...who the hell was making the decisions on this team before I got here last season."
Bombers GM Jeremy Goldman refused to comment because he knew that the former GM for Sylva was his father and he did not want to go there.
This move will fill in the hole in the OF that was vacated by now Free Agent Donald Mansfield. "I think we got a better player for over $2M less than we offered that prick [Mansfield]," quipped Brooklyn GM Goldman, "We are all better off for how this went down."
