Michael Weintraub and I are testing out the new version of OOTP with a fictional league. My personal opinion is that it may well be worth upgrading. For instance, downloading the league file is preposterously easy in the new version. One click of the mouse and the game smoothly takes care of the rest.
But, we're way too early in the process to have a final recommendation to offer to either Nate or the rest of the owners. I do though want to ask everyone in this league (and the SDMB league) if there's anything in particular they want us to check. I'd like to have a list of things people want us to check out in the new game so we can report back to the group on them.
So, is there anything in particular you'd like us to check on OOTP 9? Bugs in 6.5 that trouble you? Things you like and want to make sure still work? Drop a comment. Thanks.

Please check to make sure that the "Seattle is forever doomed to choke in the playoffs" bug is retained. It just wouldn't be the same without it.
Well, I've seen a Seattle team win a title in a solo league I'm playing with.
They did have to lose in the playoffs twice before winning it all though, if that helps.
In all seriousness, thinks I would like to know are (keeping in mind that I have no idea if these options are possible):
1. Whether the new version provides compensatory draft picks to good players who are lost to free agency (like in real MLB), and if so, whether it works reasonably well.
2. A secure and fair way for managers to make their own coaching offers without requiring emails to the commissioners (similar to how we have control over our free agent offers)
3. Same as #2 above but for and contract extension offers
4. Same as #2 above but for the amateur draft. (Maybe the game could allow us to prerank our selections and then choose from those automatically?)
