Sim #1 in Version 9 Complete

I simmed up to January 6 and uploaded the league file. We're still working on the web pages for the new version, so nothing there to look at. Just update the league file within the game and it should go to January 6. I hope.

Not a lot of note. Some resignings by New York and Pittsburgh, including a great deal struck by Eric to resign a top starting pitcher.

I'll do another sim Monday evening, of another five days. After that, we'll start picking up the pace again and get to the new season. I just want to make sure everyone has a second chance to modify the changes made by the computer during the rollover.

I love how players now have an attitude about contract negotiations. I don't love how a player insists he wants money, money, money! from me, instead of a minor-league contract, but then goes and signs a MLC with someone else. Grr!

Anyone having problems downloading the league file? I've had one report. Let me know what your experiences are.

The other day I kept getting a message that the .zip file was corrupted or empty. Haven't been able to try again, though, as my mother-in-law has security-enabled her wireless but doesn't know her password.

On another note, I'm looking for a catcher and perhaps an infielder, and have starting pitching, relevers, and outfielders to spare. The conversion was kind to many of my guys, less kind to others, but overall I get the sense the new version is more liberal in its bestowment of ratings and stars than the last. If anyone is interested, let me know.
