The third sim has been run. We're through tax time, as the day is now April 16. In addition to the major league season going, the first games have been played in AAA, AA, and full-season A ball. Also, please read all the way to the end of this blog entry for an important note.
After 15 days, Marietta and New York are tied for first with a three-game lead over Jersey City. Nate's offseason spending spree appears to be paying off right now. Defending champs Brooklyn, reeling from a four-game sweep by New York and loser of six of its last seven, is in last place. Questions mount in the ornery New York press as to whether Brooklyn's start is a sign of things to come or a temporary aberration.
In the Platonic League, last year's playoff teams are in the lead, with Pittsburgh ahead of the Miami Clay Bennets by 1.5 games. The two are in the midst of a series right now, as the carpetbaggers have taken the first game. Surprising Cairo is in third place, just two games out of first. The Sylva Black Bears are off to a very rough start, going 1-11 and already 8 games out of first.
The biggest news of the sim was the fight between Donald "Missing" Parson and Joshua Lajoie in the April 13 game between Pittsburgh and Sylva. Both players were suspended for nine games as a result of the brawl.
On the injury front, Stockholm was hit hardest as Dennis Delvecchio and Chad Kinlaw will be out about 1-2 weeks. In the only other injury news of the sim, Jersey City's Sergio Varela announced that he could not pitch for the next two weeks due to a blister.
In other news, Brooklyn's Miyatarou Takenao is the last remaining player to have a hit in every game his team has played this year. So, the Bombers struggles can't be fairly laid at the feet of their star third baseman, who is brutally underpaid.
On April 12, Earl Moya of Helena turned in a steller performance, shutting out Jersey City on two hits in the Handbasket's 9-0 victory.
Next sim will be Friday by Nate. League file is updated. Good luck everyone.

As to the important note, prompted by a request from an owner, we will allow any owner to request a stadium change before next Friday's sim. After this, we will only entrtain such requests in the offseason. So, if you want to be in a different stadium, speak now or forever hold your peace.

I'm rather hit or miss on things like more realistic injuries, drug suspensions, and general teams-owned-by-me-being-mediocre.
But, more brawls, please!
Gotta admit, it makes it more amusing to check the actuals of injuries now.
Is it just me, or are we unable to access the emails of other managers now? We used to be able to do that in 6.5 but I don't see a way to do it anymore.
I think the emails are protected now. Must be that teams updated their firewall protection in the offseason to prevent industrial espionage.
