2003: Sim Two Completed!

Yes, baseball fans, sim 2 is completed!

The surprise of the season continues to be Maryland in the Platonic League coming in at 6-1 after the first two sims! Of course, in the Socratic League we have a three way tie for first place with Jersey City, Brooklyn, and Helena all tied up and Marietta just one-half game behind!

In odd accomplishments of the sim we have the April 11 tilt between Brooklyn and Helena! Tied up at 7 at the end of the front nine innings there would be no score from either team until the top of the 14th inning in which Brooklyn puts up EIGHT runs against Helena pitcher James Bowler. Bowler, coming in for his fourth inning of relief work that night just had nothing to give and was pounded in the frame.

On the injury front Brooklyn's Miyatarou Takenao injured himself throwing a ball and is day-to-day for a week with a tender shoulder. Cairo's Henry Du is also day to day for two days with a deep bruise in his hand. More serious is the injury to Jersey City Starting Pitcher Stephen Hawn. Hawn ruptured his tricep tendon while pitching and is on the disabled list for about three weeks.

The next sim is Monday by Mack! Be there!
