Sim #7 is in the books and we're well into May! The air is getting warmer, except maybe in Stockholm, and the long, hot summer is before us.
In a continuing example of how the Socratic League is going to be close the entire year Jersey City, which started the sim in fourth place, finds itself in first by one-half game over Brooklyn. Those two are followed closely by Helena, Marietta, Winnipeg and New York which is only four games behind the pace setter! It's time for double jeopardy where the stakes are really high!
In the Platonic League Seattle continues to have its lock on first place but only by two games over Maryland and Sylva. It's too early to write that one in stone but at least there's some distancing going on from top to bottom. And speaking of 'bottom' Pittsburgh continues its record-setting run with a winning percentage of .286 and a record of 8-20. Can they be worse than the 1962 Mets? Only time will tell if anyone here can play this game!
In standout performances this sim we have Sylva's Theron Mire who turned in the ninth best pitching performance of the year with his 6.2 innings of 1 hit work against New York on May 3rd!
The next sim is Friday by me! Be there!
