Yes, sports fans, Games Two of the Championship Round of the 2003 OEL playoffs are in the bag! And thing are moving along in dramatic fashion!
In the Platonic League we saw two powerful offenses bringing their A games to the field! Maryland put up seven runs in the game but that didn't stand as Seattle scored in each of the first seven innings to take the game 11-7. Maryland's Starting Pitcher, Wayne Dick, was roughed up early as he gave up seven runs on seven hits in 3.1 innings. His replacement, Antonio Hernandez, was better but that's a relative term. Hernandez gave up three runs on five hits in 2.2 innings.
The game did have some tense moments when Seattle's medical team ran on the field to the frantic motions of All Star Starter Thomas Holte. With an eventual diagnosis of a 'stiff elbow' Holte is out for the remainder of this playoff series and possibly more as he is sidelined for a week. Quite a blow to the Seattle squad should the series last until games five or six!
In the Socratic League we saw Hal WOPR's Winnipeg Microchips go up two games to zero over Brooklyn with a 6-5 win. Winnipeg took the game in the sixth when, down 5-1, they put up five runs in the bottom of the frame to go ahead...a lead they would never lose.
I have simmed game two and the off day following so that Mack can sim game three clean tomorrow night! Be there!

Damn, that's two starters I've lost now. I curse the injury gods.
They curse you back, you know.
