Maryland continued its fairy tale run with a 6-4 victory over Brooklyn. Will they be able to carry the magic to the title? They're just one win away!
The Poedamnedmonium took the lead with a five-spot in the bottom of the fourth, chasing Bomber starter Mark Fossum from the game. Brooklyn had lived up to its name with two solo home runs in the top of the frame, taking a 2-0 lead. Ronald Hernandez tied the game with a two-run bomb of hiw own in the pivotal fourth. The PDM just kept on hitting with a two-run double by John Dickerman being followed by an RBI double by pitcher Quinn Shetler.
Shetler ended up going eight innings. He wobbled again in the top of the sixth, when catcher Pio Pastrama hit a two-run bomb for his second home run of the game. Pio took home Player of the Game honors for his effort. But, the Maryland hitters immediately struck back again with a solo home run by Kenneth Juarez extending the lead back to two. The scored stayed 6-4 from there as Shetler and closer Ralph Mills kept the Bombers in the park.
Maryland hosts Game 5 tomorrow with a chance to claim the title in front of their home fans. Will it happen? Will the Platonic League claim its first OEL championship? Stay tuned to Nate's sim tomorrow.
League file is posted and the web pages are on the way.
