OEL Championship Series Game Six! On to the World Series!

Yes, sports fans, after a week of play the entrants for the 2003 OEL Series is now set! Brooklyn and Maryland will be meeting for the crown! Both wildcard teams are advancing to the final round of the playoffs.

In the Platonic League game Seattle got out to an early lead with a run in the bottom of the first with a lead off single by Zaragosa followed by a double by left fielder Veit! Maryland answered in the top of the second to tie it up with Jonah Leiva's run scoring single. Seattle went up 2-1 in the bottom of the fourth only to have Maryland tie it up in the sixth and go ahead in the seventh.

In a more tense Socratic League game which included a triple play in inning two of the extra inning contest, Brooklyn was up after three innings with back to back doubles by Woodworth and McGinn. Winninpeg eventually went ahead of a two-spot in the bottom of the seventh only to have Brooklyn push one across to tie in the top of the eighth! Locked up in regulation Brooklyn won with two runs in the top of the tenth that Winnipeg could not answer!

One of our finalists is travelling in the Holy Land so the beginning of the OEL series will commence after he resumes communications. Hoepfully that will occur on Wednesday. But watch this space for updates!
