Hello and welcome to game one of the 2003 OEL Series! We've got two great teams meeting up for the first time in the series tonight and it should be a barn burner!
Maryland has taken game one 7-3 in a tough one! After four blank innings on both sides Maryland broke through in the fifth with three runs, two of them driven in by pitcher Punal! That's taking care of both sides, Fabio!
Brooklyn answered with one run in the bottom of the frame but Maryland answered with one in the top of the sixth to leave the score 4-1 after six! Maryland put the game away with three more runs in the top of the eighth to steal the first game and home field advantage from the Brooklynites!
Star of the show tonight was Maryland shortstop Chris Fordyce who went 5 for 5 with two runs scored. Fordyce is batting .375 for the postseason so far!
Tomorrow's game will again be at the Brooklyn landscape and promises to be another sweetheart of a contest! Be there!
