OEL Championship Game Three: Brooklyn Dominates

Dateline: Brooklyn

In the first ever OEL Championship game played in Brooklyn the Bombers dominated the Seattle Ministry of Silly Walks winning game three 7-2. The win gives Brooklyn a 2 games to 1 lead in the Championship Series.

Brooklyn starter Mark Fossum threw 8.2 great innings. With 100 pitches thrown Fossum gave up 2 runs on 6 hits and 2 walks while striking out 7. Seattle’s starter, Alvaro Pedro, didn’t fair so well, allowing 5 runs on 9 hits in 6.2 innings. Brooklyn scored two insurance runs in the ninth off reliever Robert Turner to seal the game.

Both teams started the game tight, with each half inning featuring only 3 batsmen through the top of the third. In the bottom of the third Brooklyn got on the scoreboard when LF William Marone led off the frame with a triple and later scored on an infield hit by CF Oscar Woodworth. Brooklyn broke through again in the 4th when a double by Takenao followed by a single by Pastrana, another double by Delavega, and another single by Marone led to two more runs and a 3-0 led for Brooklyn.

That would prove all the east coasters would require as they went on to win, allowing only two runs by Seattle in the top of the 8th inning.

Game four will be held on Monday night and the tension is building as the fans and owners wonder who will join Marietta as the team allowed to fly the victory pennant! We’ll see you back in Brooklyn for it! Don’t miss out!
